Cleaning Robots: Industrial Cleaning & Grinding
Autonomous mobile cleaning and grinding in manufacturing sites and equipment interiors. Based on a development project for AI cleaning and grinding inside ship compartments, assess obstacles, dust, and surface conditions. This application is in development.
Core functions
- Develop obstacle detection and navigation to cleaning and grinding locations within compartments
- Develop autonomous cleaning and grinding of the target surfaces
Customer value
- Aim to reduce manual cleaning and grinding in manufacturing, including shipbuilding
- Evaluate reductions in time spent inside equipment and repetitive grinding workload
Check before deploying
- Surface material, unevenness, steps, obstacles, required finish, dust extraction, and ventilation
- Commercial floor cleaners are not automatically suitable for steel grinding or coating removal; check tooling, dust resistance, and process suitability
- The MLIT-selected AI onboard cleaning and grinding mobility project is R&D; commercial model, availability, performance, and deployment benefits are unconfirmed
